Premium pepper mill made of brass crafted in Greece by skilled artisans to the highest standards. Not only does this unique statement piece look absolutely stunning, it’s also highly functional for day-to-day use. The original design was made to grind coffee beans in the desert for Greek soldiers during the 1st world war period. Hence the materials used are very robust and durable, what makes the mills suitable for years of reliable service in the busiest kitchens.

These mills are actually pepper grinders: they are designed to actually grind the pepper. This unique design allows for maximum flavour and aroma, compared with common pepper mills which only smash the pepper, severely limiting the flavour release. Its double-row of grinders, grabs and cracks each peppercorn, before drawing it down to the teeth for the perfect grind. Choose between fine and rough grinding to suit your recipe.

Pairs perfectly with our accompanying salt mill.

Important note: The handle is packed inside the body for transport and is easily assembled. Please screw of the top part of the mill, to find the handle inside.

  • Long arm for easy grinding
  • Durable all metal body, wide base for stability
  • Can be used to grind pepper corns, dry spices or coffee beans (not salt or soft seeds like grain)
  • Made in a small scale family business production environment in Greece
  • Adjustable metal grinding mechanism adjusts from fine to rough.

Details:

  • Dimensions: H 23cm x    ø 4cm
  • Use instructions: To insert pepper corns, unscrew the bolt at the top of the mill and remove the top. Put the corns into the cavity and replace the top and the bolt. To open the mill, pull the bottom half away from the top half. You can then grind pepper corns directly onto your dishes or collect the ground product into the bottom part.
  • Care instructions: Please do not wash the mill. Brass is naturally resistant to corrosion, but like all metals it does slowly oxodise and change in appearance with touch, use and through exposure to moisture and oxygen in the air. This process is part of the nature of the metal and brings with it a beautiful patina of use. Over time brass will darken to a reddish tone and dull off in appearance. However, if users wish to retain a bright polished look, ordinary metal polishes can be used with a soft cloth to polish the outside of the mill. Excessive exposure to moisture may lead to more extreme corrosion such as bright green-blue to grey colourations which should be removed and avoided by following the care instructions provided.
